I thought about this while the tournmant was about to finish(final 8) but imagine what if Arizona chance didn't win. And what cards we would've gotten like what if starboy had won. Or someone like chief buffalo. What would their new card's gimmicks would be?

Chief Buffalo: A fake 'native American' on the warpath. I'm not convinced he is not already close to the 'savage' stereotype, all which is lacking is a headdress of eagle feathers and a stone tomahawk.

Starboy: A full superhero identity, except exactly who? I would say "The Amazing Starboy", but as I understand it, there was not many out and out superheroes in 80s media beyond comic books.
He could be a Micronauts parody, but they were late 70s. More He-Man? He could become Zodiac-Boy (a tweener who has a feud with He-Beast AND Skellagore, and a tag team with He-Beast AND Skellagore).

A Shao Kahn inspired character would be really cool and i think it could fit either Dark Invader or Vladimir the Cruel.
So if they won i think we could have gotten "Dark Emperor" or "Vladimir the Conqueror".
Especially Vladimir since he becomes VTC(Triple H) in the 90's and it can also be a reference to his King of Kings persona.

You’d have to think that the closer we got to the finals, the more concepts for Alt cards were discussed or decided on. The Dev Team is presumably sitting on a handful of ideas for new versions of these existing cards, and hopefully we get them at some point.

If i had to guess i think making the first one 80's only would be true to the releases of the games probably? First 80's and then 90's and maybe After both? If that is the case i think its a good ideia because it gives certain characters an opportunity to participate in the Tournament whereas if it was a mix of the decades they probably wouldn't have a Chance(pun intended).
