If there's one thing that the 80s crushed almost every decade with, it was horror movies. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the classics, but the 80s really upped the ante.
Where do some of you folks stand when it comes to 80s horror. What are some of your favorites? If this thread gets enough traction I might come up with a A1R1 regarding.
I'm not going to make a top ten list (you may, of course) but I will share a few of my favorites. Sleepaway Camp, Return of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead, Night of the Demons, Friday the 13th (franchies), Nightmare on Elm Street (franchise), Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Demons...I really could go on for a long time.

I agree with everything you've got on that list, my man. Given your list of favorites would I be safe in assuming you are also a fan of the legendary Joe Bob Briggs?
I was too young to know about him on TNT, but I'm catching up with The Last Drive-In thanks to Shudder. He was in Milwaukee a few weeks ago and I got to meet him. A+ dude, four stars, check it out.

He was a horror movie host. He had a bit of a redneck/cowboy gimmick.

Slashmaster in the 80s is already a Jason Voorhees I think. A Freddie or chainsaw massacre would be great though. he could be a mashup of Terry funk and the chainsaw massacre.
