I was going to update my list, but I chose not to.
The Monster Encyclopedia is a book that I've had for nearly my entire life. No joke I bought it in '97 or '98 when I was in the 5th grade. It's not in the worst shape but you can tell it's been handled quite a bit. The cool thing is that both of my sons will page through it quite a bit like I used to. Easily, that book helped shaped my love of horror movies, and pointed the way to several classics.
I dig comic books, but I don't necessarily like getting individual issues. I'd much rather wait until they come out in a big collection. The Walking Dead is great, leaps and bounds better than the show. I'm also a big fan of the Batman '66 and Gotham Central series. Speaking of superheroes, Amazon is about to release to a new show in July based on a series I enjoy very much, The Boys. If you like Punisher or Toxic Avenger style violence, then you'll appreciate it.
Zombie Survival Guide is another classic in my home. Mom and Dad got it for me Christmas of '04 during my Freshman year of High School. I've probably read it over a hundred times. Recently my love of Godzilla and giant monsters got the best of me and I purchased the Kaiju Survival Guide. For the most part it's a duplicate of the zombie survival guide (it truly felt like deja vu at points) but I really liked the "eye witness accounts" the story sprinkled in. For instance, an interview with one of the pilots that battled King Kong over NYC.

Anyone who's NOT read Ready Player One really needs to. I really enjoyed the movie. Maybe I'll give the book a try. Currently I'm reading The Boys. In July it'll be a series on Amazon. It's been a comic for several years. Real gritty and violent superhero story. I'm also excited for the Alien 3 novel that's coming out. It's based on the original script for the movie that ultimately never got used.

I loved the movie, but the book takes it to a whole new level and makes me wish they'd done an exact version of the book!
