Started playing today and I'm 9 weeks in. My current roster is:
1. Stone Cold Steve Austin (World Heavyweight Champion)
2. The Rock (Tag Team Champion)
3. Mick Foley (Tag Team Champion)
4. Edge (United States Champion)
5. Jeff Hardy (Cruiserweight Champion)
6. Matt Hardy
7. Rey Mysterio
8. Ric Flair
9. Kane
10. Undertaker
11. Shawn Michaels
12. Randy Orton
13. CM Punk
14. Batista
15. John Cena
16. Triple H
I want to expand my roster to 20 people, but there's no one in free agency and I don't really want to lose anyone I've already got. Any advice?

Not the best advice but you could trade a popular star for 3 lesser popular stars

There's just not enough peeps in the roster to have 20 people in a wrestler, but I wouldn't change that roster anyways, that's pretty good.
Also, while we're talking about SvR 08, RIP Ashley Massaro.

I took Magnifico's advice and did some trading and trophy dating, here's the current roster:

The cool thing about this game's roster is that every single wrestler can be used in singles competition. It would be very odd to have a GM Mode with the current WWE roster, since most tag team wrestlers aren't all that different from their tag partner. There is no reason to choose Jimmy Uso over Jey, Hanson over Rowe, Dash over Dawson or Konnor over Viktor.

I've dusted off the PS3 and started GM Mode too. It's been a while - here's my first show. Umaga over Gregory Helms, MVP, Chris Masters Nitro w/ Khali over Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy for the Cruiserweight Title Roddy Piper over Mr Kennedy for the US Title DX over Brothers of Destruction for the Tag Team Titles Bobby Lashley over Edge for the Heavyweight Title 3.5 stars overall, the others only notched up 3  May I mention over in RAW, Melina got a win over the Rock in an Iron Man match. |

I'm starting to see what you guys meant with the game being stacked against me. I'm consistantly booking 4, 4,5 and 5 star matches across the board, but my overall show rating is usually 3,5 to 4 stars with the occasional 4,5 to 5 star show. Meanwhile in ECW and RAW they put on 3 matches per show with an average score of 2,5 to 3 stars, but they somehow end up with 4 to 5 star show ratings.
I'm currently 2nd in the rating, 4 weeks after Summerslam with Raw having just 10.000 viewers more than me. At least ECW is about a million viewers behind me, but the gap with the other shows should be way bigger considering I took most of their top stars and they mainly book handicap matches.
