I found my Dad's old PS1, & I'm planning on ordering some old wrestling games. Any recommendations?

A lot of the best wrestling games on PS1 are kind of limited. Off the top of my head, I’d suggest these:
- WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game - it was also in 16-bit systems, but should be arcade perfect on PS1. Very fun arcade-style game, made by the same team responsible for Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam.
- Power Move Pro Wrestling: This was a modified port of the New Japan Pro Wrestling game Toukon Retsuden. The characters are fictionalized, but the movesets are from actual New Japan Wrestlers. 12 characters (with 3 hidden ones), but you can only do singles matches.
- WCW vs. The World: This was also just a port of the Japanese game Virtual Pro Wrestling with WCW branding. 60 wrestlers in all, but again, only singles matches available. This was AKI’s first wrestling game, the ones who were responsible for the all the great N64 wrestling games like WCW vs nWo: World Tour and WWF No Mercy. The N64 games are superior to this one, but it’s as good as you’re going to get on PS1.
I forget what the second Smackdown game was called, but that was good for it’s time.
Games I’d Avoid - WWF: In Your House, WWF Warzone/Attitude, WCW Nitro/Thunder, any of the ECW games (they use the the same engine as Attitude)
That’s all I can think of. Everything else worthwhile is Japanese and I’m assuming you don’t want to go through that hassle.

I plan on getting sd 2 know your role, wcw vs the world, & maybe an ECW game to see if I personally enjoy one. It doesn't really take much to entertain me. I'm planning on getting a ps2, since that's where a lot of the best were games are.

Know Your Role was excellent for its time. I’m curious to see from a young guy’s perspective how you feel it has aged.

It pains me to say this, but I have to agree with Skullgore. WWF Warzone was not too good. I dig it because of the nostalgia. At the time I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, but if you play it now you'll see it has not aged well. If you can find it cheap enough then I say buy it. Just don't expect it to knock your socks off.
