What in your opinion is the best era in WWE? Imo it's the ruthless aggression era. I'd say it's even better than the attitude era. The in ring talent was great, & there was just this feel to it. We had guys like Edge, Randy, HBK, Kurt, Eddie, Batista, HHH, Taker at his best, Rey, Hardyz, London & Kendrick, MNM, the list goes on. & That was also the best era for WWE games.

Attitude era simply because the entire industry was shifted and it made WWE actually worth watching again.

I dont think one era really represented true greatness. good and bad existed in all of them.
The 80's was cartoony goofiness but had big stars like Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Andre, etc.
The New Generation in the mid 90's was a holdover for the wacky stuff of the 80's but you had great talent like Shawn, Bret, Razor, Nash. this era almost killed the company too.
The Attitude Era of the late 90's going into the early 00's had some memorable matches and feuds and the emergence of excellent talent like Austin, Rock, Mick Foley, Undertaker, Kane, HHH, heel Vince McMahon. much of it hasnt aged well though when you take off the rose colored glasses. a lot of the storylines are cobbled up messes with logic holes, the segments for the most part are drivel, and it had a very unsavory reality TV effect to a degree.
Ruthless Aggression in the mid to late 00's has great matches and a still very mature tone to the product along with great talent like Jericho, Misterio, Cena, Batista, Benoit (not excusing what he did just commenting on the talent he had), Guerrero. it however carried over too much of the nonsense reality TV vibe, it was overly dramatic and half baked at certain moments, and the angles and stories once again were in most cases unbelievable imo.
The current era of about 2012 to today is one I dont have a lot of hours clocked with. I mostly read spoilers these days outside of watching full NXT episodes and Takeovers. The brief moments I have watched are a bore and a lifeless shell of a company despite some amazing talent like Rollins, Cesaro, Owens, Ambrose when he was there, etc.
So imo every period in the WWE's history has ups and downs. none of it in my view was ever perfect though. It all comes down to ones own likes and overall expectations.

If I'm correct we had 6 different eras
Golden (early 80s)
New generation (I don't remember when this started)
Attitude (about after the stone cold vs Bret Hart WM match)
Ruthless aggression (early 2000s)
PG (late 2000s)
New (the new draft)
In my opinion it's really between the attitude and golden era followed by the ruthless aggression era

Pretty sure some of those guys started in the ruthless aggression era assuming you mean attitude era, I know, but taker, Shawn, & Jericho had some of their best matches in the ruthless agression era. Takers & Shawn's best years were in the 2000s.

What's wrong with drama in wrestling? Makes it more entertaining. That's why I don't like most indie matches(NJPW,AEW,RoH aren't really indie companies) I don't really care for a match if there's no story or reason. That's why I mainly watch WWE( which is terrible right now) & NJPW, there's drama. I plan to watch AEW when they start. RoH isn't that good right now imo.

Ruthless agression was more mid 2000s, it didn't end till 2008. I'm pretty sure it started in like 2002 to 2004 it started in 2002 & ended in 2008. July 28 2008 was the end of ruthless agression era & beginning of PG era.

Pre-Hogan Hogan Era Post Hogan/Pre Austin 3:16 Attitude Era/Pre-WCW end Ruthless Agression Cena Era Spinning their Wheels in the mud Era
