I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread about NWA Powerrr yet. I didn't grow up watching Georgia 'rasslin, but this is a real interesting concept. I hope it is successful enough to keep running.

I just watched first couple episodes... I like it, very old school. I especially like the interview area at ringside. I always felt that the ring was no place for a wrestler with a microphone.

Tim Storm is pretty great. Colt Cabana is definitely one of my favorites. Can't forget Nick Aldis or Eli Drake. Love the old school feel, honestly AEW Dynamite & NWA Powerrr are the only 2 Wrestling shows I watch anymore.

I'm a fan, started at their 2nd week and I'm now caught up and looking forward to it each week. I don't know where they are going with the interviews with Aldis not letting Kamilla talk though. I LOVE the fake commercials, Tire Irons and Waffles!

I watched the first episode. Smiled at the nostalgic feel, and then moved on. For me, there’s a reason that wrestling moved beyond that format. Seeing the guys wrestle in front of dozens of fans doesn’t make them feel larger than life, it makes me feel like I’m watching something that just isn’t important.
Aldis and Storm did a tremendous job of putting over the title and had a very good match. Eli Drake is great. I’d just rather watch AEW Dark if I have a free hour.
But, I also know there’s a certain sector of wrestling fans who like watching this old-school style. What a great time to be a fan. You want traditional old school studio wrestling? You’ve got NWA Powerrr. You want matches filled with high spots and more athletic guys? AEW or NXT is your game. You want outlandish soap opera drama mixed in with your sports entertainment? You’ve got RAW and Smackdown. Death matches? Plenty of Indy stuff out there. Strong style your thing? NJPW is for you. We really are getting into a new territory system, and I love it.

Never realized how much I missed it until I watched this show.

I might give this a try. This style of show was before my time. I started watching in 91’. Does the wrestling style feel old school too or is it just this modern flip, flop & fly choreographed high spots shit, where 90% of the action takes place outside the ring with “wrestlers” standing around waiting to catch each other. Is there any actual logic to the matches in NWA Powerrr? Please tell me there is.

One other thing I neglected to mention— the camera angles they use are all very low angle shots, which is VERY old school as it makes the guys look so much bigger than they actually are. Ironic that the show with the smallest and flippiest guys consistently uses the widest angle shots, making their guys look even smaller.

I would say story is the actual point to each match, they don't really have many matches for the sake of just having a match. The only downside I can say is that I am not a fan of the Dawsons, and that's just personal preference because they come off like the Nasty Boys without the natural (or gimmick) charisma and that's literally all I can say bad about NWA Powerrr. If they changed their gimmick or ring gear I think I might like them, but as is I just kinda tune out until they are gone. They aren't a huge major part of every show so it isn't even that big of a deal. I highly recommend trying it, just for the sake of seeing what you think.

This is a great show. I look forward to it every week, which is not something I can say about other wrestling promotions on TV. I like to see how the guys and girls handle the interviews since it's live-to-tape with no writers. The good talkers stand out and the not-so-good talkers stick out. And everyone is going for a Title. If you're not in the title picture, you're talking about wanting to get there. Clear motivation if you're presenting your program as "sports" and not just "entertainment". If you ask a sports team what their goal is, they'll say to win the championship, not that they really want to beat one specific team and that's it. That might be part of it, but the end goal for all the participants is the same.
I have no issue with the Dawsons, other than it feels like they've been on every episode.

I enjoy the show week to week. Its got that old school feel and most of the roster are cool to see. Having Corny on commentary and Eli Drake too are just bonuses

Jim Cornette done messed up, but in all honesty how did someone at the NWA not recognize that what he said was inappropriate and edit it out of a taped show they've had in the can for months now?
The question (mark) now is, who will replace him next to Joe Galli on commentary?
