really enjoying NWA. never seen anything like it before. What happened to the original studio shows like these back in the day? Did they just lose their popularity when competitors like WWF started gaining steam? Basically when Vince Jr. took WWF nationwide, and shot all of their shows in arenas, the other promotions like JCP/NWA and Mid-South/UWF started moving their TV tapings into bigger buildings because by contrast the studio shows looked minor league. But WWF had its own "studio" wrestling show, but even that was just in a very small arena in Pennsylvania.

Stu Bennett, aka Wade Barrett, is taking Jim Cornette's place on commentary. Gonna start after the "NWA Into The Fire" PPV.

I've never heard Bennett on commentary. He was a good promo so hopefully he's good at being a color commentator.
For what it's worth, I find it a bit odd that the PPV is happening at the GPB Studios. I get that they're doing 3 consecutive days with the PPV followed by TV tapings, but even a small building or high school gym would feel more "prestigious" than the TV studio.

Guess they're just trying to be different, but old school at the same time?

any thoughts on Into the Fire. Marty Skrull showing up after Aldis/Storm was cool. I'm also a fan of Aron Stevens, so it was cool to see him come away with the National title. Rock N Roll Express on the other hand, need to retire.

I didn't see the PPV but I'm super excited that the NWA Television Title is coming back. Although I have one concern coming out of this week's episode: Will the TV Title matches have a 6:05 time limit, or was that only for the three way qualification match? It wasn't really made clear on commentary.
Logically the Television Title should have a 10 or 15 minute limit, I'd go with 10 since that's the average time limit for the standard TV matches. It could be 15 if you want to go with the 90s WCW or 80s Mid-South model. But I think the biggest part of this title should be that it is only defended on Power. It's the TV title, and that's their "TV Show". It was beyond infuriating watching Mid-South and hearing that the TV Title changed hands at a non-televised event.

I'm also pretty sure that The Question Mark is Jocephus now...

I'm also pretty sure that The Question Mark is Jocephus now... I have the same sneaking suspicion, however in my head Jocephus is fatter (but it could be the singlet holding his gut in). I really hope it's not him, because I love the idea of there being a guy out there who decided he was going to wrestle as The Question Mark because it reminds me of the gimmicks me and my friends used to come up with when we were wrestling at my house.

What do you guys think of all the TV title matches being 6:05 long? Personally I find it a nice callback to the old TBS Superstation shows on Sat evenings.

NWA Powerrr is the only wrestling I watch nowadays. I like my soapy wrestling, but I don’t have time for 2-3 hours every other day to keep up with everything. 1 hour a week is good. I am not liking the new intro song though. It doesn’t fit the feel of the show. I think what caught my eye to Powerrr was Aldis. I’m so used to everyone being blatantly heel or babyface it was interesting to see him in those first episodes toeing the line between them. Now he has seem to have gone full heel and is kind of meh, but it is what it is. I’m worried they are trying to change too much at once. Changed the intro, dropped the goofy commercials, added a vlog, these changes just don’t make sense.

I loved the original one, it should have stayed the theme music for at least a full year in my opinion.

Has anyone seen Circle Squared yet? I really like the concept of the show.

Has anyone seen Circle Squared yet? I really like the concept of the show. Yeah, watch it shortly after it aired. It was decent. Hopefully all the promos won’t be a “best kept secret, best around, first time, yada yada yada” type promos every time.

Has anyone seen Circle Squared yet? I really like the concept of the show. I like how the concept is done without breaking kayfabe. No shitty video packages and sit down interviews showing how they like to snowboard or whatever in their spare time etc

I like how to the point it is. Cut a short promo, have a match and the crowd will decide if they want to see you again or not.
NWA Powerrr is starting to grow on me as well. I watched two of the newer episodes and Bennett is quite good on commentary, the women's division isn't talked about enough and Aldis acts and feels like a big deal. Also the ROH partnership will probably be very benificial to both parties.
