Anyone watch that? Thoughts? I wish they would have had some backstage interviews/promos before and after matches. Some matches went way longer than they needed to be in my opinion. Also I know I’m in the minority here but I did not like the lights out match. Too much hokey bullshit with the fake glass and that ridiculous bed of “barbwire”

I liked everything I got to see of it, which I only missed the tag match and the women's match. I liked the throwback to the 90s of the lights out match and I LOVED the ending to Cody vs Jericho.

I agree with you on the Cody Jericho match. That was by far my favourite. I kind of knew MJF was gonna turn heel on Cody but there was that brief moment where I actually thought that it might go the other way with Cody snapping out of frustration and giving him a crossroads. Good swerve! Ok the issuse for me about the lights out match is that it just comes across as fake. For example Go watch any of the TLC matches with Dudleys/hardys/E&C or Angle vs Shane KOTR 01 ... it’s like comparing apples and oranges. That stuff was seriously believable and you thought someone was gonna get legitimately hurt. But when you see that fake bed of barbwire coming out it’s just over the top Ridiculousness that takes you completely out of the moment because if there was any shred of realness to that then someone would be severely lacerated and instantly hospitalised after falling into it.

Overall I was a fan of this show, with two major exceptions:
1. Shawn Spears vs. Joey Janela. The match itself was fine, but as a person who only watches Dynamite and none of the YouTube stuff, I had no real idea why the match was happening aside from maybe a comment on Dynamite and some of the commentary during the entrances at the PPV. This could have been saved for this week's Dynamite and I don't think anyone in the arena or at home would have minded.
2. Lights Out Match. To paraphrase Dave Meltzer, and a point Jim Cornette has also echoed "When I think of a Lights Out Match, I think of two guys in jeans and boots with taped fists having a brawl while a referee in plain clothes officiates. Not a deathmatch straight out of CZW". It went too long and got too ridiculous. And the finish seemed oddly familiar to the Gargano/Ciampa feud in NXT.
Otherwise this was a pretty solid wrestling show. I agree with the sentiment that they could have used more interview time and build up for the matches, but that's also a problem with Dynamite so it's more of the company needing to adjust than just this show.

You think blood just magically appeared? Must have a Cornette mark here.

Not a Cornette mark at all son... just a mark for logic. That barbed wire bed was 100% gimmicked just the same as the “glass” was. Have you never heard of blading? Please go make a bed of barbed wire and then jump into it and lets document the differential amount of blood loss compared to that of the lights out match

Loved it. So far the ending of each episode of Dynamite and the PPVs has me looking forward to the next installment. The only thing I would have changed was to put the Baker-Priestley match on the main card and drop Spears-Janella to the pre-show.

Anyway everyone is entitled to their opinions and if you enjoyed it, you enjoyed it and thats great. Different strokes for different folks. I enjoyed a lot of other aspects of the show and the main thing is it’s another alternative to watching piss poor WWE. Maybe I’m just old school though. I really should give NWA Powerrr a go.

Could you please be a bit less reasonable, a bit more petty and lash out at people? Keep kayfabe alive Jerk, protect the business...
I watched the first episode of Powerrr and it's not for me. It's a bit too hokey and it's a bit weird to see people trying to put themselves over as the best in the world when they are standing in a studio that is barely bigger than my living room.
I do agree with your opinion on WWE. I keep watching it hoping it will get better, but apart from a few highlights everything just dissappoints. It's pretty damning that the best Smackdown of the year was the one where most of their roster was stuck in Saudi-Arabia.

I agree fully that they should have swapped the women's match and the Spears/Janela match. As for NWA Power, you have to remember that studio wrestling isn't for the audience in the studio. They're just there to provide reactions to the action and interviews, much like a game show crowd. Studio wrestling is wrestling for the viewer at home. That's why there's a lot of promos into the camera instead of how in WWE they pretend the camera isn't there. If you watch it with the mindset that the viewer at home is the audience and not the people in attendance, then it works.
