Deleted by Gunslinger. See Mr. Fantasy's explanation this thread to reduce confusion. To be clear, there is no Main Event requirement. What's required to unlock a new gimmick is maxing out a Wrestler's current stats (same way you would to unlock Merch in 8MWR). You could do this the natural way, or by using Training (for any of the 3 stats). Once they're maxed, it costs 1 Token to upgrade them to the next higher status. You can then optionally unlock an alternate Gimmick for a cost of 1 Gimmick Point. Thanks for clearing that up for us. Just a part of why I have no problems dropping real money in Mania Wrestling games

What is the confusion here?

I deleted my previous post to reduce confusion. If those that quoted me in this thread would remove my miscommunication of a post, it would probably help cut back on any future confusion as Mr. Fantasy has cleared it up better than I did.

So if we have to upgrade at least once before gimmick change does that mean jobbers will become obsolete?

So if we have to upgrade at least once before gimmick change does that mean jobbers will become obsolete? Think of Jobbers as the MMW equivalent to Local Talent in 80sMWR. But as far as I can tell, you can upgrade their status, but they have no extra gimmicks.

Okay... So will openers become obsolete?

Okay... So will openers become obsolete? Openers can increase status, and they do have an alternate gimmick

Something really important to note here is that players can adjust any unlocked Status level and/or Gimmick (for a reduced cost). For example, you can take an Opener all the way up to a Legendary, but then can move that wrestler back down to Opener. It wouldn't matter what Gimmick they're using, the same maneuverability applies. So no, Openers aren't obsolete.

I've just maxed out Zed's stats, leveled him up to Midcarder and changed his gimmick to Gregorian. If I want to unlock every card in the game, I will eventually run out of Openers. Since there are Opener-only matches some people will have to be moved back down a rank.
My Question is:
If I make Gregorian an Opener, but want to move him back up the card later on, will I have to use a token once again? Or can I freely move up and down the ranks that I have already unlocked for that character?
Also: Will I have to max out his stats all over again when I want to promote him to Midcarder for the second time?

I'm confused, if I change a wrestler's gimmick, do I have to spend a gimmick token to get him to the original version ?

This was kinda what I was getting at. What if we boost every opener... Then we can only use the 4 or 5 jobbers for opener only matches..? One I boost an opener why would I want to pay(at a reduced cost) to demote him back? Lol anyway so far I am loving the game brothers thanks i bought both packs

im pretty sure it just says change status so going from that you can demote them to jobber and if its like 80mw then they should still be availble to chose just a thought havent tried it yet though
