I've just maxed out Zed's stats, leveled him up to Midcarder and changed his gimmick to Gregorian. If I want to unlock every card in the game, I will eventually run out of Openers. Since there are Opener-only matches some people will have to be moved back down a rank. My Question is:
If I make Gregorian an Opener, but want to move him back up the card later on, will I have to use a token once again? Or can I freely move up and down the ranks that I have already unlocked for that character? Also: Will I have to max out his stats all over again when I want to promote him to Midcarder for the second time?
This was kinda what I was getting at. What if we boost every opener... Then we can only use the 4 or 5 jobbers for opener only matches..? One I boost an opener why would I want to pay(at a reduced cost) to demote him back? Lol anyway so far I am loving the game brothers thanks i bought both packs Awesome! Glad you're enjoying and thanks for supporting the game! To address your question... Our answer would be because our games attempt to hit the sweet spot that challenges users to consider balance and strategy while also allowing for creative freedom. In other words, sure, you could assign an Upper Midcard status to literally every single one of your wrestlers, but why would a pro wrestling booker sim game "reward" a player for creating a landscape in their fed where there's no Opener status wrestlers? By our own logical estimation, that wouldn't be "good" booking (not to mention it's a highly unlikely scenario that most users would avoid due to the whole imbalance thing). So naturally, if you're in such a position where you're loaded with currency and want to really customize your fed's landscape, do so logically and/or strategically (ie understand that a balanced roster is the best roster). Also - for anyone who's already Upgraded a wrestlers Status, simply flip that card over, click their Status button and explore the sliding scale. You'll see that you can move the wrestler between levels and their stats will move up/down along with it. There's no "doing stuff over" once you've done it, other than the reduced cost for moving the sliders ($10k instead of 1 Gimmick Point for example).

I have a question that is similar to this that I wanted to ask out of curiosity.
Is it possible for a wrestler to go lower than their starting tier (for example, say if I wanted Gunslinger to be an Opener or Mid-Card instead of Upper Mid-Card)?

Each wrestler can go as "low" as their base/starting Status. We might rethink this in the future if there is a demand. Just can't imagine Monstro as a Jobber.

I have some higher wrestlers I would prefer to be openers or midcard instead of UM or higher. Just part of the "creating your feds landscape" thing.

I can see someone doing it to simulate a "losing streak" that a high tier pro wrestler goes through sometimes.

They have stat numbers differently after switching back to Gunslinger, as his did not go up when Pale Rider's did

The part I love most about this is the ability to really watch someone go from opener to zmain eventer, as slowly or as fast as you want. Want to create a side roster of up and comers for an NXT style show? Now you can, and they've made it relatively easy. Nothing has given me Such pleasure as Watching Diablo ride H2H to UM card, jump to the Dark arts year 2 and Win the WC.

In the in-game wrestler card checklist, how many of the names are cards you buy and how many are unlockable alts?

Since every card has a gimmick change except for jobbers I would say 51%/49% Black Plague is an Upper Midcard that actually doesn't have an alt too. The only non-jobber to not have one that I know of.
