(Toni Cruise is backstage at Glory as Yuppie VP makes his way through the curtain following his loss to Tommy End)

Toni: Yuppie, a tough loss tonight that eliminates you from the tournament and sends Tommy End to the finals. You were laughing when you shook Tommy's hand. Care to comment?

Yuppie: *laughs* Sometimes you just have to laugh at the absurdity of it all. At the futility of it all. After I got planted by Tommy End and beaten once again, when I looked up and saw his outstretched hand it all dawned on me. It's over. A whole year of waiting and preparation and just like that - it's done. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Tommy. He's a hell of a competitor who apparently I can't beat anymore. I'm just feeling a bit... deflated?

Toni: Unfortunately your road to redemption has seemingly come to an end, but next week you face Red Pirate Rogers for what is essentially the runner-up in Block A.

Yuppie: Runner-up in Block A? It's not much of a consolation prize, and that's only if I can defeat the Pirate. If you'll recall it wasn't that long ago that I lost to him in a high stakes match. Even though we're both out of contention to win the J-1, I won't be taking this match lightly and I know that Red won't be taking it lightly either.

[Red Pirate Rogers]

Before entering Killie's Red take a beat to send a quick chirp.

"Many kudos to @dutchdestoryer, but we can still make Block A Amazing. What say you @wallstwolf? With pressure off for our match next week, shall we cut loose and give the fans something special? Bull ropes? Coal Miners Gloves? Any other JWA firsts we can muster? As ever, #atyourcommand."

Pocketing his phone, he strides into Killie's gestures for his post match quinine and heads to Pierre's table: "Thank you again for tonight's match my enormous friend. I feel like I ought to cover your tab tonight..."

Pierre gets a mischievous glint in his eye...

As the evening winds down, Red checks his phone and sends a response

"I maintain, @wallstwolf that results go beyond wins and losses and titles, to include fuzzier metrics like excitement built and moments created...but that's a philosophical debate for a less bruising night. #AtYourCommand, we'll go old school."

Then Jackson comes over with a long roll of paper. "You covering Pierre tonight, Red?"

Red's eyes bulge and he hands over a card muttering "Good thing piracy pays well..."

Tommy End is at the Green Mist Dojo talking with his master, the original Great Ginzu.
Tommy End: Sensei, have you heard of someone known as the Red Oni?
Ginzu: Yes. The Red Oni was a legendary martial arts master known for his brutally effective form of martial arts. Why do you ask this question, Tommy?
Tommy End: I've been contacted by someone who has sent a message from this Red Oni.
Ginzu: Do not answer it. I do not know much of the Red Oni's training methods, but I know they change a person completely. You would gain unknowable skill but in return you would lose part of yourself.
Tommy End: I will keep your words in mind, Sensei.
Tommy walks out the door and Ginzu begins his meditation.

Arizona is in his customary location, the JWA World Championship displayed prominently next to him.

“So, the J-1 has been extended. I see what you’re doing here, Whistler. You listened after all! I once again hold my destiny in my own hands. See, the J-1 is the only prize that has eluded me in my time here, and it’s something I’ve secretly obsessed over since Yuppie managed to hand me my first singles loss in the tournament last year.

I’ve come to a realization— it’s because both times I’ve entered the J-1, it’s been immediately after a brutal title match with Tommy End (who I defeated both times), and I have entered the tournament banged up twice now.

So, if I somehow manage to lose to either the wannabe poet, the wannabe ninja, or the wannabe most disgusting man on the planet, as laughable as it is, I have a promise to make (and despite what you think of me, I always keep my promises). When next year’s tournament rolls around, I will vacate the World Championship one month before the J-1 to heal up… CAUSE I’M NOT LOSING IT BEFORE THEN. Because no one defends the gold like the Last Crusader, Arizona Chance!

We are at a local medical facility with Toni Cruise as she waits for Dyno to come out from his latest batch of tests.  It's snowing but she's being forced to wait outside so she's taking shelter with some of her crew in the camper van they traveled in.

After a short moment Dyno walks out alongside a JWA official.  They confer for a moment and then shake hands as the official heads off.  Dyno spots Toni waiting for him and heads over.  She invites him into the van and he takes his jacket off before sitting down and accepting the hot drink that is offered to him.

TONI: "Dyno thanks for agreeing to talk to us.  It's maybe not the best weather for it so we won't take long."

DYNO: "Not a prob Toni, it's good to see you guys."

TONI: "Well firstly, how goes the recovery.  Do you have a target date yet for a return?"

DYNO: "Recovery is slow Toni, but we're deffo further along than we were a month ago.  I'm undergoing twice weekly tests as we're trying to avoid surgery but it may be taken out of our hands.  It is what it is."

TONI: "Sorry to hear it Dyno.  So we'll move on to the current state of the JWA.  Obviously winning the J-1 last year started a great run for you."

DYNO: "Yeah it did and it sucks to be missing it this year, but I've been watching from my apartment every week.  Tommy's had a great start as you'd expect, but the result of the tourney safe to say was AC losing to Stan.  But there's a long way to go yet, never count the champ out."

TONI: "Any chance you'll be stopping by the studio anytime soon?"

DYNO: "Am hoping to be there for the J-1 finale for sure Toni but we'll see.  For now I've got to head off to my next appointment, and don't you need to get going for Glory?  This weather's gonna slow you down."

TONI: "Yes we do, well thanks for the words Dyno, take care and see you soon."

Dyno thanks the crew and leaves the van, walking off towards his rental car, as Toni and the crew close everything up and prepare to head to the JWA Arena for Glory.

Tommy End is in the locker room getting ready for his match when Honest Sal enters.
Sal: Tommy, can I ask you a few questions?
Tommy: Sure, let's hear them.
Sal: What's your reaction to the J1 tournament being extended?
Tommy: Honestly, I'm fine with it. Obviously I already had my block won, but I think my recent form has been pretty damn good. I think I still have the best chance to win my block, although I expect Rogers and Yuppie to step it up the second time around.
Sal: Who do you think is going to win Block B?
Tommy: Let's just be honest here, the entire reason this tournament got extended is because Arizona Chance is bottom of the pack right now. I expect him to turn his fortunes around, most likely by cheating. He said something about vacating the title next tournament, but if he gets to the finals I'll make sure he vacates it immediately. And he won't be leaving the arena in an ambulance. He'll be leaving it in a hearse.
Sal: That was all I had, Tommy, so thank you for your time.
