Greetings, grapple fans!
This week's main event features one half of the JWA World Tag Team Champions, Duke Mongoose, taking on the ever-popular Penguino! This match came about after a war of words took place on social media following the lumberjack match a few weeks ago. Penguino has stated that he'll leave Johnny Kobra in the back if Duke is willing to do the same with his usual ring attendants, Tembleberry and The Earl of Jackson. Duke has promised that those two won't get involved, but we all know how good Duke's promises are...
(The polls will be open for at least 24 hours. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just that you participate!)
On the subject of those two, next week's main event will be a special 2 on 1 handicap match, where JWA World Heavyweight Champion "Relentless" Conor Caine will face both Tembleberry and The Earl of Jackson. Caine requested this match and I think it'll be too entertaining to pass up!
Unfortunately, last week's big tag team grudge match ended in a no contest when things got completely out of hand between Big Waves and the Tag Team OF DOOM. With Buffalo and DOOM holding a victory over the history making Pierre & Chesterton, they have to be considered in line for a championship match in the future. But Big Waves didn't lose to TTOD twice, so they've got to be considered in the running as well. Plus we all saw Conor Caine and Mack Caliber, collectively known as Relentless Aggression, defeat the tag team champions in a lumberjack match. Who will be next to challenge "Lord" Taylor Thorin and Duke Mongoose for the coveted tag team titles? Could it be... all of them?
Tommy End continues to chase a match with former JWA World Heavyweight Champion Red Pirate Rogers, going so far as to refuse to compete or even participate as a lumberjack until he gets the match. We've neither seen nor heard from Rogers since losing the title back at Crash Carnival. Will he accept the challenge? Will Tommy End MAKE him accept?
Another person who re-appeared recently but has since vanished back into the ether is Bad Luck Bradley. After showing up as a shock to help out during the lumberjack match, we haven't heard from him since. What could the Bad Luck Bro be up to?
JWA Women's World Champion Daisy Turner is scheduled to be joining us tonight with the results of the Semi-finals of the Daisy World Cup. Who will be competing in the finals for the trophy and a contract with JWA?
Also coming up later tonight we're expecting the return of the franchise himself, Arizona Chance! Rested and re-focused, where will he be setting his sights?

("Calling Dr. Love" by KISS plays and the fans erupt in boos as Duke Mongoose makes his way through the curtain and into the JWA Studio. Tembleberry and The Earl of Jackson scuttle out in front of him and get pelted with garbage)
LeRay: Duke said that those two weren't going to be at ringside this week, but of course, here they are.
Beeman: Look at the disrespect, Mick! Throwing garbage on those two gentlemen!
(Duke looks shocked to see the two and yells something at them. Tembleberry and The Earl hang their heads and walk to the back)
LeRay: Maybe Duke wasn't lying. He seems to have shamed them into going to the back.
Beeman: Probably just a misunderstanding.
(Duke climbs into the ring and begins to pose furiously, seemingly oblivious to the hostile fans reception. He holds his tag belt high in the air and struts around the ring)
LeRay: Well, you've got to give one thing to Duke: he's confident.
Beeman: Duke Mongoose has a winner's mindset. It's why he's been so successful over his entire career.
LeRay: He's had some trouble with his opponent here tonight, and here he comes as these fans leap to their feet!

“Where My Mouth Is” by Taking Back Sunday comes on and Penguino comes out with no one by his side. He makes his way down the ring looking prepared while wearing a Penguin Kai headband.
Francis “X” Mccorry rings the bell and the match begins and the two competitors stare at each other before Mingoose takes a swing that Penguino ducks under and hits a German suplex. Mongoose is quick to roll through and the two look at each other again
Mongoose goes to challenge Penguino to a test of strength and while they are going to set up Mongoose nails his opponent with a kick to the gut and follows up with a stalling suplex.
Beeman “Work Smarter not harder Leray.”
Leray “Sure so smart.”
Penguino gets up again and chops Duke in the chest and Duke follows up with a punch and the two begin to trade strikes
Leray “Now they are making marks on each other seeing who will back down. Duke goes for a clothesline but goes over The Humanoid Penguin who turns around on his belly and slides beak first into the shins of his opponent.”
Beeman “He’s cheating.”
Mongoose flips over holding his shin and gets up in the corner where Penguino hits a stinger splash and Mongoose falls to the ground.

*Big Waves is seen at the gym and Troglo is being harassed by a gym bro (you know the type)*
Troglo: *grunts and growls at the gym bro*
Bro: Scared?!?
*a sadistic grin shows up on Troglo's face after he spots something shiny*
Bro: Not my car I just got it....
Troglo: *he lifts the car off the ground and slams it down causing the tires to pop* TROGLO SMASH!!!!!!!!!
Bro: *angered*
Pierre: *I head outside and flip the bro's car over and belly laugh*
Bro: Damn it....
Chesterton: *has a shit eating grin on his face* maybe next time I'll join in and elbow drop the windshield
Bro: *storms off*
Troglo: *spots something the gym bro dropped* shiny..... *he then eats the bro's gym membership card*

LeRay: A cover by Penguino but Duke gets free after just a one count. Penguino looks to lift Duke off the mat but Mongoose rakes the eyes!
Beeman: The Greco-Roman eye hold! Brilliant!
LeRay: Mongoose takes advantage of the stunned Penguino and slams him to the mat. Duke drags him up and takes him down again with another scoop slam! Mongoose points to the corner!
Beeman: It’s all over for that bird brain!
LeRay: Duke climbs to the second rope…
Beeman: The most dangerous rope!
LeRay: Duke goes for a falling back elbow smash but Penguino rolls out of the way!
Beeman: Referee! Frank! Check that bird for grease!
LeRay: What?
Beeman: I don’t even know anymore.

Daisy: Hello everyone. This is it. The moment you have all been waiting for. Time to find out who will be advancing to the finals in the Daisy World Cup. Lets start with the one, the only, the sweet, the bubbly, Sakura!!! Watanabe!!!
Motteke! Sailor Fuku! plays and Sakura is dancing to the music.
Daisy: And her opponent. The mystical, the Sinister, Winter Hex!
Secrets plays and Winter Hex walks to the ring not tagging any of the fans.
Daisy: Ladies you have made it this far, now it's time to prove to the world why you deserve to be in JWA. There will be a press conference held at JWA Mania but just for tonight, the mic is yours. Sakura. We'll start with you
Sakura: こんにちは、みんな。ここに来られて光栄です。大分県の渡辺さくらです。皆さんに誇りに思っていただければ幸いです。来週のグローリーエピソードでまた皆さんにお会いできるのが待ちきれません。
Daisy: Thank you Sakura. Winter it's now your turn.
Winter: Ok for starters I have no idea what she said. Nor do I care because I am going to win this tournament, I will be joining the JWA Roster and I will be the next JWA Women's World Champion. As for you Sakura. You will go back to Japan wrestle for SUNDOM or whatever Joshi company you're from and you will stay there until you eventually retire.

Mongoose gets up holding his elbow and looks infuriated at Penguino. He charges after and and chases him in and out of the ring repeatedly until finally Penguino manages to get Duke to stub his toe on the steel steps and the two roll into the ring.
Leray “Smart move by Penguino to escape.”
Beeman “Or to cheat even more than the grease.”
Leray “Penguino now with a snap suplex and he sees an opportunity here he’s climbing up top and we haven’t seen this move in a long time. THE FLYING PENGUIN! Did you see the height I’ll be surprised if he didn’t just break a rib or two. Francis with the count 1 2 No Mongoose figures out how to escape.”
Beeman “Can I talk now or are you still rambling.”

(Penguino waves his flippers to get the fans to start making noise as he lifts a clearly injured Duke off the mat. Penguino puts Duke into a front facelock and takes him up and over with a vertical suplex)
LeRay: Penguino putting even more of a hurt on those ribs of Mongoose, and it looks like he's not going to let up - another suplex! Will he go for the third and complete the Three Penguinos?
Beeman: THERE'S THREE OF THEM NOW?!?!
LeRay: Calm down, Beeman, it's the name of the move, and yes! Penguino with three vertical suplexes in a row and now a cover!
*One...Two...Kickout*
LeRay: Penguino is continuing the assault! He's got Duke set for another vertical suplex, or possibly the Thin Ice?
Beeman: Never mind, LeRay! Duke blocked it! Small Package!
*One...Two...Kickout*
LeRay: A nearfall for Mongoose and he's on the hop as he hits the ropes and catches Penguino getting back up with a Running Neckbreaker Drop! Cover by Duke!
*One...Two...Kickout*
Beeman: Did Frank ever check that bird for grease? DID HE?
LeRay: Mongoose slaps on a rear chinlock to keep Penguino grounded, and I'm not even going to dignify your ridiculous comments.

Penguino is clearly gasping for air as he struggles to get out of the headlock but Mongoose loosens up a bit to showboat and ends up regretting it as this allows Penguino to slip out of the hold. He proceeds to run at Mongoose who shows athletic ability by jumping over the Penguin.
Beeman “See look and how clean and good if a wrestler the Duke is.”
Leray “Fat chance. Oh and now look at this Mongoose lifts up Penguino from behind and drops him down onto his knee and Penguino turns around into a punch right to the breadbasket that sends Penguino down.”
Beeman “Wow that punch hurt just looking at it.”
Penguino gets up and Mongoose goes for a clothesline which he misses and turns around into a leg sweep by Penguino sending him down onto the mat

Mid-way through the match, "Palladio" by Escala starts to play, momentarily distracting Penguino, but nobody walks out.
Instead, a spotlight happens to catch the VIP Balcony where Thorin walks out to a chorus of boos, to watch the rest of the match. Tembleberry and the Earl of Jackson follow and provide his Lordship with refreshments as he watches on.

LeRay: Penguino has really been taking the fight to Duke Mongoose here tonight, and the fans in the JWA Studio are loving it!
Beeman: Morons, the lot of them! I'm just glad to see His Lordship has graced us with his presence.
LeRay: I'm glad to see that Thorin, Tembleberry, and The Earl are staying in the balcony and not coming down to ringside.
Beeman: They don't want to be seen near someone like you, I'm sure.
LeRay: Yeah, I'm sure that's it. Anyway, in the ring Penguino has Duke up and he sends him into the ropes with an Irish whip. Penguino sets for a back body drop, but he telegraphed it and Mongoose puts on the brakes. OH MY! Jumping Piledriver by Duke Mongoose!
Beeman: It's all over! Cover him Duke!
*One...Two......Kickout*
LeRay: Penguino narrowly slides a shoulder up off the mat, and this match will continue!
Beeman: That penguin's been greased! I'm telling you!

As Mongoose looks to lift up Penguino Penguin Kai music begins to play which distracts Mongoose this time and he meets Thorin and Tembleberry and Earl on the podium and he attacks Earl and Berry as Taylor runs away.
Beeman “He’s cheating plain and simple and look out Duke.”
Leray “He didn’t seem to hear you as Penguino now with the rolling German suplexes followed up by thin ice followed up by Ice Fishing and the cover 1 2 2.9 no a kick out from Mongoose now I’m wondering if he has grease in him.”
Beeman “Nonsense he can’t have grease on him.”
Penguino looks stunned and he starts to rally up the crowd but from behind Mongoose rolls up Penguino with additional leverage pulling on his feathers
Beeman “See Duke can’t have grease on him.”

Beeman: All is right with the world. Well, it WOULD BE if Thorin and the rest were at ringside, but c'est la vie. LeRay: Duke might be trying to continue the attack but Penguino catches him with a jawbreaker! And now a dropkick and it sends Mongoose out to the floor! Beeman: Lucky shot from the bird brain! LeRay: Duke is... uhh... he's going under the ring? Beeman: I'm sure it's all part of a plan, Mick. LeRay: Penguino doesn't seem satisfied to let Frank McCorry administer a count out, so he's going out after Duke. Penguino is dragging Duke out from under the ring! Beeman: That's unfair! Let the man do what he needs to do! LeRay: Under the ring? Beeman: It's not against the rules, is it? LeRay: Penguino goes to toss Mongoose back into the ring and he - he slipped out! Penguino is looking confusedly at his flippers, but if I'm not mistaken Duke Mongoose has greased himself up! Beeman: Nonsense! He's just worked up a hearty sweat! LeRay: Duke carefully gets back into the ring and awaits Penguino, who comes into the ring and tries for a slam but Duke slips right out of Penguino's grip! Penguino now with a waistlock and Duke casually slides out! I'm telling you, Duke Mongoose is GREASED! Beeman: And I'm telling you he's just very, very sweaty! And besides, if he WERE greased, then turnabout is fair play! Let's see how bird brain likes a taste of his own medicine! LeRay: Oh, brother! FRANK! Check Duke for grease! Beeman: Shh! Let Francis do his job. LeRay: "Francis"? Oh please! |

The spotlight goes to the entrance ramp, then up to Thorin’s booth, where I’ve been hiding behind their seats. I rise up from behind them and hear the crowd go nuts. A startled Tembleberry turns around, and has enough time to tap Thorin on the shoulder before he gets grabbed and lifted into a Magnum Slug. Thorin taps the Earl of Jackson and as they get up, he shoves Jackson toward me while making his escape. I grab Earl and hit him with a second Magnum Slug. As Thorin escapes, I hold my fingers a millimeter apart to signify how close he came to getting his. I sit down in Thorin’s seat, grab his popcorn, and start watching the match. |
