As Brad's name is announced, the camera is on him. He is stuffing his mouth with popcorn and looks around surprised. His Grandma is sitting beside him, Martha beside her. The two women suddenly begin to fuss over him, fixing his tux, brushing him down and cleaning him up. Brad stands, strides down to the stage, stops halfway, spins, and returns to his Grandma to grab her by the hand. He returns to the stage a second time, slower now, with Grandma and Martha on each arm. He heads to the podium, looks bewildered and removes his half-moon glasses, placing them on to read his cue cards with shaking hands.
Brad: Oh, Kipper the Dog, what you did for me; you changed my life, truly. This means so much more to me this time. I don't know why. I think the first time I hardly felt it because it was all so new. I owe a lot to the others, to my players, to Alpharius Omegon and Tylor and Roger the Pirate and Amazonia Change and Sephy Wephy and my little friends Penguinister and Juicy Mongoosey. I owe a lot to my family for holding me together and loving me and having patience with this obsession of me. But I want to say thank you to you. I haven't had an orthodox career and I've wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn't feel it, but this time I feel it. And I can't deny the fact that you like me. Right now, you like me! You really, really like me! Thank you.
He waves to the crowd, clutching his Jammy and drying his eyes as music plays him off, arm in arm with his Grandma.
