I can't believe my boy Penguino would resort to bribing Slashmaster to beat me up before our match, let alone that he paid off Bayou Burl and Artemis to keep me in the ring as well! I can only assume Johnny Kobra put him up to it. No matter, Big Daddy Duke will rest up and show everyone why he's the champion at Guts & Gory!

Big Daddy Duke has retained the services of one Detective X to look into the shady situation surrounding the Guts & Gory preview match. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it was all orchestrated by Kip Whistler himself! I'll provide updates on the investigation as I receive them.

Big Daddy Duke has also been informed that I would be wise not to make broad insinuations about Mr. Whistler, or any other member of the JWA roster or staff. Backstage at Mania, after the show's main event of Tommy Tough vs. Earl Jackson. Earl's music is playing as Tommy Tough walks the halls towards the locker rooms. He's intercepted by Omega leading headfirst in tackling him to the ground. Horns gash at Tommy's stomach, clutching in pain as the main event's ref pulls Omega back from Tough. Blood trickles down his horns as Omega glares into the camera.
Omega: So, still think these are fake, Conor? Still think this is some stupid costume? Still think these are some cheap props I can take off at the end of the day and live life like you? These aren't fake. I'm not fake! Everything about me is ****ing real! And you'll feel exactly how real these horns are when they're tearing the flesh from your miserable bones. You better have your affairs in order because you're a dead man at Guts and Gory, Conor Caine.

We cut into the Blip Studio, decorated for Halloween, with Toni and Sal dressed up.
Toni: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another episode of THE BLIP, where we catch you up on everything you might've missed at Guts and Gory.
Sal: And have we got a show for you. Coming in via video, we've got Divine Hubris.
The video feed comes on, showing Omega in a hospital bed, Black Cat asleep in the chair near by.
Toni: Omega, it was a brutal match you and Conor Caine put each other through last night.
Omega: Yeah. 17 stitches and a broken horn. And none of your stupid human doctors had anyone to fix that. They had to get a ****ing veterinarian in for that.
Toni: Oh, what, was that like?
Omega: It felt like she was the only competent person I saw last night.
Sal: Yeah, easy to say most fans were shocked to see that scene after the Novacaine.
Omega: Yeah, most of the fans apparently refuse to believe me. I would've figured the literal blood of the gods coursing through my veins would've been clear proof that I've never been coy about exactly what I am. My story has never changed. It's not my fault you all refuse to listen.
Toni: And about that match with Conor, how are you feeling about the ending.
Omega: Considering I'm still in the hospital recovering after losing the amount of ichor I did from what Conor Caine did to me, am I supposed to be downtrodden that it took everything in his arsenal and more to put me down while I was functionally bleeding out. If Black Cat wasn't passed out after being up all night panicking about me, he'd tell you how I was functionally out from the time he landed the Raising Caine until about noon today.
Sal: How did you keep going on in that match then?
Omega: Adrenaline is one hell of a thing. Conor's started something he won't be able to stop.
Toni: And, how long will you be in there. The J-1 starts this week, and Duke was the one who got the luck of the draw to have a week off to recover from Guts and Gory.
Omega: I saw. And I will be damned if Conor Caine costs me even one point in the J-1. Mack, I have a lot of respect for you, but only one of us can make it out of our Block.
The video feed cuts off.
Sal: Indeed, and you can catch the battle of Franken-Caine's Monsters along with 5 other round one J-1 matches on this weeks episode of Glory.
Toni: Really Sal? I get today is Halloween, but really?

We fade into a vignette set on that construction site from before. Conor is sat on the caterpillar treads of an excavator that looks more like the corpse of a slain beast in this low light. Conor’s bandaged up and his face still puffy from his battle with Omega.
CAINE: I’ve taken back the name “Relentless” but now I have to prove that I’m still worthy of it. I need a white hot fire for the baptism, and I can’t think of any challenge greater than the J-1. To come out on top I’ll have to best a World Champion, a lunatic, a mythical beast gone mad, and unstoppable killing machine; I’ll face old foes and new threats. Week in, week out I’ll have to beat some of the best in the business, and then beat the best of the rest. To get to the end I’ll have to be tenacious, but to win it all? I’ll have to be… Relentless.
Fade out.

the king of games: the truth is I would have preferred to beat mack caliber in guts and gory but that no longer matters what matters now is the j1 tournament it will be my first time in the tournament and I will make sure that all my opponents have difficulties advancing in the tournament

@surfsupshreds so glad to see the matchups posted. The Brofessional Wrestler of DOOM you’re up first for the shredfest. Caught a few waves with the babes in Baja and gave them tickets to night one. They’ll be front row and I’ll be 1-0 heading towards a totally tubular two time J1 trophy win.
