I'm sure a lot of us already know most of these, but I wanted to document the wrestlers and managers from the game, and what wrestler/pop culture reference they represent. For each entry below, I have listed the card fromt he game and the tribute or parody it represents. If a card only has a name listed as the tribute, it is someone within the wrestling industry. Those with a longer explanation are other concepts like TV, video games, fims, etc. If there are more than one version of a card, like Jet Set Strutter, I have only listed it once. If a card's second or third version vary significantly in my opinion, I listed it multiple times. If an entry is blank, I did not know the reference, or it is not readily apparent, or I have not seen that card. Please feel free to reply with suggestions, and I will update this list when necessary.

Big Thugee likely a combo reference. Bears a remarkable resemblance to the Temple of Doom (Thuggees), and the actor who plays that particular character was a professional wrestler.

The Gargoyle is Gargamel from the Smurfs

Herman the Nerd Super Spy is Austin Powers.

Zombie Punk: Return of the Living Dead is the first thing that comes to mind. Of course there was the overflow of 80's zombie movies, plus the punk rock scene. The same goes for Zombie Skater.
Papa Choppa: Wez from the Road Warrior
Choppa: Ax (or Smash) of Demolition.
Herman Nerd: Austin Powers
Herman the Nerd and Waldo the Dweeb: Revenge of the Nerds, Herman even looks like Luis Skolnick.
Lil/Big Thuggee: The villains from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Power Racer/Power Boy: A parody of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Killer Klown: A combo of Doink, IT, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and ICP (probably not, but they got their start in the 90's, Vanilla Ice is a big juggalo and he does not appear when Killer Klown is selected)
Dungeon Crawler: The hero from Dragon's Lair.
Cabb: I think it's ECW's Taz.
Dizzy Lixx: 80's version is Nicky Sixx, 90's version is Marilyn Manson. 
90's Max Attack! and Johnny Kobra: Street Fighter's Ryu and Ken, respectively. 
Spazz: I recognize him as Jim 'The Anvil', but his hat reminds me of 2015 Biff.

Dungeon Crawler is a parody of Dungeons And Dragons AND Dirk The Daring from Dragon's Lair. He later morphs into Ash William of the Evil Dead series.

Cletus Mullet and Zeek Mullet are walking good old southern boys stereotypes. A kin to the Duke Boys from the Dukes of Hazzard. Also, a mullet is a popular hairstyle for men in the 80's which is ridiculed now.

RoboElrctro 2000 is, designed wise, similar to Rom The Spaceknight, a failed toy action figure from Parker Brothers which is better known for the Marvel comic book. Also parts of ROB can be seen in his design (ROB was a pack in assesiory in the Nintendo Entertainment System).

Brute and Massicar are dirrect characters based on the wrestling card game Guardians of the Galaxy (no relationship with the Marvel comic). GotG game advertisements could be found in many wrestling mags from the 80's on up, and the company which makes them also makes the tabletop version of this game.
